Welcome,
my name is Joäo Paulo Barraca and I'm a Lecturer (Assistente Convidado) at the Department of Electronics Telematics and Informatics of the University of Aveiro. For a complete list of the lectures please take a look at my short CV.

I'm also a researcher at the Aveiro premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações working in the Heterogeneous Networking Group. As it can be expected, and besides classes related stuff, most of my work results in the developed of novel communication solutions, paper writting, programming on the Linux environment or NS-2 simulator, and a fair amount of project management

In the past i also lectured some classes of the IMRSI course at Escola Superior de Tecnologia e Gestão de Águeda.

I achieved a Licenciatura on Computers and Telematics Engineering at University of Aveiro, and later a MSc on Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering. Currently I'm pursuing PhD on Informatics under supervision of Prof. Rui Aguiar.

On my free time I am always looking for a good book, be with my friends and family, or visiting interesting places. In the remaining speck of free time, and if the weather allows, I try to find something interesting on the (not so dark) skies above Aveiro. If everyting fails, i typicaly fallback to my electric guitar.

On this website you will find some photos I'm sharing, a few quick hacks, some of the links I recommend, and a file transfer area. Some other (probably boring) details about me can be found here.
