Vodafone has organized last week an event for information interchange with academia. ATNOG has been invited to a presentation in that event, made by Prof. Rui Aguiar, on the future of the relationship between Over-the-Top and the mobile operators.

Dr. Seil Jeon has seen some of its work recognized recently with the acceptance of the paper "Load-Balancing Proxy Mobile IPv6 Networks with Mobility Session Redirection" for publication in IEEE Communication Letters.

João Paulo Barraca and Rui Ferreira are in London, participating in the second meeting of the PROSE project. PROSE is a FP7 coordination and support action that will contribute to
the adoption of open source software on ICT projects, by increasing the
lifetime of the software developed inside European projects

The European commission has just released the outcomes of a number of cloud computing expert meetings as a report. Members of ATNoG contributed actively to this report, “A Roadmap for Adanced Cloud Technologies under H2020“. The report identifies 10 main technological topics for areas of research in cloud computing and categorises them into three topics: immediate, sustainability and game-changing. This report is especially useful for those wanting to understand where certain priorities lie for the EC’s H2020, the successor to the FP7 research and innovation programme.

Finalizing one week of academic presentations, this Thursday afternoon we have the conclusion of the PhD from João Paulo Barraca, under the title of "Management of Stackable Communities". The external jury will be compose by Prof. Teresa Vazão and Prof. Paulo Simões.
